Bulk email marketing involves sending out promotional email messages to a large number of people at once. These commercial email messages can take different forms. The most popular types of bulk email marketing include:

  1. Direct mail: this is the most common type of email marketing which entails sending out a promotional offer for a product to a list of customers or potential customers in an email. You should use a website to attract customers daily in order to increase your client base or you may decide to rent a list of email addresses from service companies.
  2. Retention mail: this is a form of email marketing in which emails are sent in form of newsletters. Newsletters are not necessarily promotional emails, but emails that contain good, useful content which informs customers of a particular product. It provides the reader value and makes them interested in your product, thus building a stronger relationship between customer and company.
  3. Email catalogs: this is essentially an email that contains print catalogs of a company’s newest and/or hottest products. Sample pictures of the products are provided in the email with links, encouraging the reader to follow those links, learn more about the product and eventually purchase.
  4. Email invitations: this is a promotional email inviting the reader for an event. It is usually sent to already established customers and has a festive undertone to it. For instance, a restaurant might send invitations in an email to existing customers to visit the restaurant on a particular date and sample their new menu of French cuisine.
  5. Email surveys: this is the most recent form of email marketing in which the email is sent in form of a questionnaire. Email surveys are usually sent to existing customers of a company with a view to improving services rendered. The recipient answers some particular questions aimed at improving the overall services of the company and sends a reply.
